The Actual vs Target chart shows the trend of a KPI's actual and target numbers over time according to the periodicity and time frame specified for the item. The trend chart shows whether the KPI's status is a short-term or long-term problem or success.

Prerequisites

To use the Create Associated Report link, you have access to the Reports component and your administrator has given your application group Display Advanced Report Settings permission.

Features

The Actual vs Target chart has these features:

  • You can change the graph options by clicking Graph Options. For information, see Chart Settings.

  • You can create a Navigator report in the Reports component using Create Associated Report. The report shows the actual and target measures of the KPI down the table. If you included the trend, then the trend is also displayed down the table. The latest date is displayed across the table. If any dimensions are filtered in the Scorecard component, those filters are retained in the Navigator report. Otherwise, the report is based on totals for all dimensions.

  • You can display the trend of actual as a third series in the chart using Include Trend.

  • You can modify the y-axis using Fit Y Axis to Data to set a minimum value based on the smallest available data rather than starting at zero. This provides a more realistic chart of data.

  • If you see a different label on the Actual vs. Target link, it means your site is set up to use a Type dimension. The Type dimension has members that allow you to switch what is being compared to actual, such as target, forecast, or benchmark. The Dimension Filters button shows you the members available in the Type dimension. The member you select replaces all instances of Target with that selection.
