 Creating an Analysis Path

  1. Define global settings

When you open the application, the initial screen for defining the analysis settings is displayed. Using the facet filters at the top of the application you can select one, several, or all company codes. You can also enter a time frame and using the footer tool bar at the bottom of the screen, you can select a currency and define currency conversion settings for your analysis.

Facet filters are used for the fields Company Code, From date, and To date, to provide filtering functionality with multiple parameters. These three fields are mandatory in order to display a chart. To apply your own selection, select an item or items from the list and click outside of the list to apply these selections. If you make changes to these fields at any stage, your changes will filter down to all charts displayed in the current analysis path.

You can reset the filters to the default selections by clicking Reset (Reset).

For more information, see Facet Filters.

  2. Add first analysis step

Click Add Analysis Step to access the analysis step gallery, which is grouped according to categories, such as country, customer, and time. Click a category to display the available analysis steps for this category. Click an analysis step to display the chart types available for the analysis step. Each chart type is represented by an icon. Select the chart type you want to start your analysis with.

  3. Select data

In the chart displayed, select data as required to filter the information provided in subsequent steps. The results of any subsequent analysis step depend on the selections you have made in the preceding ones. For more information, see Making Selections in Charts.

    Note Note

Not all analysis steps provide the option to select data.

    End of the note.
  4. Add further analysis steps

If required, drill down by adding further analysis steps.

  5. Save your analysis path

Click on the icon beside the analysis path name to access the save options. Until you save your analysis path, the default analysis path name is Unnamed Analysis Path. The path is saved including each selected analysis step, and it retains the data selection made to filter the information.
