Procedure

To create an extension definition:

  1. Navigate to   Setup   System Setup   Configuration   Extension Definition  .

  2. On the Extension Definition page, choose Create.

  3. On the Creating: Extension page, enter your data as required. For details, see Field Help for Extension Definition: Extension Page.

  4. Choose the Attributes tab.

  5. Choose Add to add an attribute. For details, see Field Help for Extension Definition: Attributes Page.

  6. On the Extension Attributes page, define the extension field. For details, see Field Help for Extension Definition: Extension Attributes Page.

  7. Choose the Default Value tab.

  8. Fill in the fields for the default value. For details, see Field Help for Extension Definition: Default Value Page.

  9. If you checked the Use as collection member box on the Extension Attributes page, choose the Collection Information tab that was created.

  10. Enter your data. For details, see Field Help for Extension Definition: Collection List Page.

  11. Save your changes here and on the Attributes page.

Note Note

Extension definitions are statically cached. Changes may not immediately affect the creation of new objects. After a period of time, the cache will refresh and the change will be visible. You can also use the Cache tab on the System Information page to force an immediate refresh of the Extension Definition cache.

It can be useful to develop queries that select or filter on extension data. These two customization features provide a powerful capability to extend the SAP Sourcing product. See Query Definitions for information about creating queries that incorporate extension values.
