Supplier contacts are the individuals that you interact with at a supplier company.

On the Contacts page, you can add and edit supplier contacts and enable contact impersonation, which allows purchasers and technical support to log on as a supplier contact.

Note that a supplier contact's viewing privileges depend on the type of sourcing document:

  • For a RFx to which the supplier is added, all the supplier's contacts can see the RFx.

  • For an auction to which the supplier is added, the Access Type field indicates whether the auction is company-wide or contact-specific. A company-wide auction is open to all contacts at a supplier company. A contact-specific auction limits auction visibility and bidding to selected contacts within a supplier company.

In the auction document, the Access Type field is read-only. The access type is determined by the auction type document.

Activities

Enabling Login as a Supplier Contact: Surrogate Bidding

Surrogate bidding allows purchasers and technical support personnel to log into a supplier's account. For example, you might log on to enter bids on a supplier's behalf if the supplier is having technical problems. Surrogate bidding also allows technical support to investigate any problems the supplier is having.

You can enable supplier surrogate bidding only if the supplier has also enabled this function. On the sell-side, this feature is enabled by default.

To enable or disable surrogate bidding:

  1. On the Contacts page for a specific supplier, if the Allow Technical Support to Enable Surrogate Bidding box is checked, do one of the following:

    • Check the Impersonation Enabled box to enable surrogate bidding.

    • Remove the checkmark from the Impersonation Enabled box to disable surrogate bidding.

  2. Save your changes.

Logging in as a Supplier Contact

If both you and the supplier have enabled the surrogate bidding feature, you can log into a supplier's account.
