Managing Analytical Apps

Administrators can assign SAP Smart Business analytical apps to portal roles.

Prerequisites

You are assigned the Content Admin role.
The system from which you assign content is set as the destination.
ABAP is selected in the SAPUI5 Library Source field in the Fiori Framework Page configuration.
SAP Web Dispatcher or another reverse proxy is configured to access SAP HANA catalogs.
You have assigned analytical app-related content to roles, using the remote content editor.

Note
You do not need to assign analytical app-related content to PFCG roles.

Context

Analytical apps present up-to-date data from HANA databases in the home page. These apps let end users monitor business activities and key performance indicators (KPIs) in real time, drill down, and react as needed.

There are two types of tiles that launch analytical apps:

KPI tiles
Dynamic tiles

You use the remote content editor through the role editor to manage ABAP and HANA catalogs and groups containing analytical apps and to provide access. Both runtime and design-time HANA catalogs can be assigned to portal roles. You can define these catalogs and groups in the SAP Fiori launchpad designer.

Note

Some catalogs may include target mapping. If so, verify that they are assigned to portal roles as needed, otherwise the tiles won't appear at runtime.

End users can:

Launch design-time analytical app tiles from the tile catalog.
Preview analytical app tile graphics in the tile catalog.

Note

End users cannot launch runtime analytical app tiles from the tile catalog, but only from the home page.
