Setting Up a Locked GroupLocate this document in the navigation structure

Administrators can define a locked group of tiles for the SAP Fiori launchpad home page, which end users cannot personalize. When an administrator changes a locked group, the home page is automatically updated.

Prerequisites

You are assigned the Content Admin role.

Context

A locked group is a group of tiles, which is fully managed by the administrator and which appears at the top of the groups displayed in the home page, including the home group. You can only set up one locked group for the home page. You can assign remote content to a locked group.

If a user is assigned to multiple roles, any locked content configured for those roles appears together under the same locked group in the home page.

In contrast to predefined groups, end users cannot personalize a locked group. End users cannot perform the following actions:

  • Drag tiles to and from a locked group

  • Remove or delete a locked group

  • Remove or delete tiles from a locked group

  • Change the location of the group in the home page

  • Reorder tiles inside a locked group

  • Rename a locked group

Procedure

  1. In the portal, go to Start of the navigation path Content Administration Next navigation step Portal Display Next navigation step Framework Page Configuration End of the navigation path, and choose Fiori Framework Page.
  2. Select the Enable Locked Group checkbox and save.

The Fiori Framework Page is now configured for a locked group.

  3. Navigate to Start of the navigation path Content Administration Next navigation step Portal Content Management Next navigation step Portal Content Next navigation step Portal Users Next navigation step Standard Portal Users Next navigation step iViews Next navigation step Fiori Launchpad End of the navigation path, and choose Fiori Launchpad Categories.
  4. From the context menu, choose Start of the navigation path Open Next navigation step Properties End of the navigation path, then choose Modify Properties.
  5. Navigate to the Locked Group Title and Locked Group ID properties and in the Value column, specify a title (name) and an ID.

The default title for a locked group is the ID, if no name is defined.

This action triggers the creation of a locked group and this category appears at the top of the home page with the specified locked group title.
  6. To add iViews or pages to the locked group, in the Portal Catalog, select the role/role folder/workset that contains the content you want to lock and define that object as an entry point.
  7. Open the object in the Properties editor.
  8. From the Show Category dropdown list, select Personalized Launcher and select the Lock Group checkbox.
    Note

Make sure that any iViews or pages you want to add to the locked group are only one level below their container.

  9. Choose Save.
End users will see the selected iViews or pages appear as tiles in the locked group in the home page.
