System Landscape Directory
The System Landscape Directory (SLD) manages all the information about software products and components that are or can be installed in the SAP NetWeaver system landscape. The SLD also stores connection data for Java Connector (JCo) destinations. For more information, see System Landscape Directory .
When creating and configuring systems in the portal, you can access SLD information using the System Landscape Overview .
Portal-SLD Integration
By integrating data from the SLD the portal extends the portal system landscape to accommodate additional SAP NetWeaver system landscapes. The system landscapes may also contain landscapes, similar to the way the Portal Catalog contains folders and subfolders. Each landscape may contain any number of systems. The SLD may also contain floating systems (systems belonging to no system landscape, existing directly under the SLD root node).
The portal integrates with the SLD by default; however, you must configure the portal with the SLD.
Portal and system landscape directory integration only supports ABAP systems and does not support systems that belong to more than one landscape.
