Use

An SAP system can be based on one of the following templates:

  • SAP system for remote portal

  • SAP system using connection string

  • SAP system using dedicated server

  • SAP system with load balancing

Logon Method

  • Authentication method for logging on to the SAP system

  • Comes with a default value: SAPLOGONTICKET (When this value is selected, the Authentication Ticket Type property is also displayed.)

  • Valid values: SAPLOGONTICKET/UIDPWD/X509CERT

User Mapping Fields

  • Additional comma-separated user mapping fields

  • If other parameters are needed for user mapping, they are defined here

User Mapping Type

Defines the type of user mapping needed for connection; who can perform user mapping

Category: Connection

Validate Connection

Confirms the physical connection to the back-end system. For information, see SAP Note 754281 Information published on SAP site.

Category: Connector

Application Host (ashost)

Address or name of SAP Application Server (dedicated component)

Message Server (mshost)

Address or name of SAP Message Server (load balancing component)

Gateway Host

  • Used by JCO to connect to the gateway service which connects to the SAP system.

  • Relevant only in the Dedicated SAP system template

Gateway Service

  • Used by JCO to connect to the gateway service which connects to the SAP system.

  • Relevant only in the Dedicated SAP system template

Logical System Name

Logical system name to which the system is pointing

Remote Host Type

  • Type of remote host

  • Default value: 3

  • Valid values: 3/2/E

SAP Client

Logon parameter to client of back-end system

System ID (SID)

Name of SAP back-end system

NOTE : If you enter the system name in the attribute R3NAME, then you must ensure that the entries for the systems are available in the SERVICES file.

SAP System Number (sysnr)

Number of SAP back-end system instance (dedicated)

Group (group)

Group of SAP application servers (load balancing)

Server Port

Port number of application server or message server

SNC Library Path

Path to the library that provides SNC service

SNC Mode

Secure network connection mode

SNC Name

  • Name of SNC

  • Overrides SNC partner name

SNC Partner Name

Name of SNC partner

SNC QOP

SNC level of security

System Name

  • The title, or friendly name, for the system

  • Mandatory, exists for each system

System Type

The type of the SAP system, such as ERP, BW, and so on:

  • SAP_R3

  • SAP_BW

  • SAP_CRM

Trace Mode

Authorization trace: 0 = OFF; 1 = ON

Admin Password (DQE)

The password in the back-end system of the administrator user - used by the DQE system to connect to the back-end system.

Admin User ID (DQE)

The name in the back-end system of the administrator user - used by the DQE system to connect to the back-end system.

  • The name of the connector class; the connector to which the template is connected

  • Mandatory when working with a connector

ComponentType

  • Defines the type of the component; for example, when importing components, the search could be based on this property

  • Mandatory, exists for each system

  • Defines the separator between name spaces

Name of portal object representing the system

ConnectionGroup

  • Type of connection group: Load Balancing or Dedicated Server

  • Property comes with a defined value

Category: Servers

An SAP system can contain the property values for several servers that are accessed by the system. The servers include:

  • Internet Transaction Server (ITS)

    Used to display SAP Transactions in portal

  • Web Application Server (WAS)

    Used to display BW Reports in portal

  • Crystal Enterprise Server

    Used to display Crystal Reports in portal

The server properties can include the following:

Name of the server as full qualified host name

Path

The path prefix for the used web applications

Category

Defines the group selector for the editor

Title

The translatable name of the server entry

SAP Systems

Used by the iView wizard to identify the system group to which it belongs
