Enabling Personalization in the SAP Fiori LaunchpadLocate this document in the navigation structure

Administrators configure the ability of end users to personalize the SAP Fiori launchpad home page.

Prerequisites

You are assigned the Content Admin role.

Context

You can determine whether or not end users are able to personalize the home page by managing groups and managing the tiles in each group.

You can also lock one group of tiles to prevent personalization. If a group is locked, end users will not be able to add tiles to or remove tiles from the group, and will not be able to reorder tiles within the group.

If a group is a predefined group, that is, it contains tiles with the property Default App on Home Page selected, end users cannot delete it but they can personalize it and reset their changes. Changes that you make to predefined groups will not be visible to the end user unless either you clean the personalization, or the user resets the group.

When an end user logs on to the SAP Fiori launchpad for the first time, the home page state is saved. Changes that end users make to the home page are saved per device group. This enables end users to personalize their home page in one way for mobile devices and in another way for desktops, according to the device groups you have configured.

If you enable personalization, users can do the following:
  • Create new groups.

  • Manage existing groups.

  • Reset changes to groups.

    Note

End users can reset predefined groups but not locked groups.

  • Drag tiles to a new location in the group.

  • Move a tile to another group.

  • Remove tiles from a group.

  • Save applications as tiles.

You can also determine whether end users can use the following options for personalization:

  • Select the Personalize Home Page option in the Options menu in the home page header bar.

  • Choose the floating (Action Mode) icon on the home page.

  • Choose the (Tile Actions) icon when hovering over a tile.

Procedure

  1. In the portal, go to Start of the navigation path Content Administration Next navigation step Portal Display Next navigation step Framework Page Configuration End of the navigation path, and choose Fiori Framework Page.
  2. Select the Enable Personalization checkbox and save.

Selecting the Enable Personalization checkbox activates additional personalization-related options in the Fiori Framework Page configuration UI.

The Fiori Framework Page is now configured to enable end user personalization in the home page.
