Creating, Renaming, and Deleting NodesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can add the following types of nodes:

  • Form nodes for storing forms

  • Structure nodes for creating new tree parts

  • Reference nodes for adding existing trees for reference purposes

  • Nodes for unclassified forms

    Note

    Nodes for unclassified forms can be created only once for each tree.

    Note

    You can either add reference nodes locally in the current system or reference them using Remote Function Call (RFC) from other systems.

Procedure

Creating Nodes

  1. On the Form Painter screen ( Start of the navigation path Tools Next navigation step SAPscript Next navigation step Form), choose Utilities Next navigation step Classify Multiple Forms End of the navigation path. The SAPscript Form Tree (Change Mode) screen appears.

  2. Select the position in the tree where you want to add a new node.

  3. If you want to add the node at the top of the tree, select the tree name and choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Insert Node Next navigation step Insert as Subnode End of the navigation path. The Valid Node Types screen appears.

  4. If you want to add a new node under an existing node, select the node and choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Insert Node Next navigation step Add to same level End of the navigation path. The Valid Node Types screen appears.

  5. Select the desired node type and choose Continue. The Specify Node Name dialog box is displayed. If you want to create several nodes at the same time, choose Several Nodes.

  6. Enter the new node name(s) and choose Continue.

Renaming Nodes

  1. Select the node you want to rename and choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Rename Node End of the navigation path. The Change Nodes dialog box appears.

  2. Change the node name in the Title field and choose Copy.

Deleting Nodes

  1. Select the node and choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Delete node End of the navigation path.

Creating Reference Nodes

  1. Choose Start of the navigation path Tools Next navigation step Form Print Next navigation step SAPscript Next navigation step Form End of the navigation path in the SAP menu.

  2. Select the position in the tree where you want to add a new node.

  3. If you want to add the node at the top of the tree, select the tree name and choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Insert Node Next navigation step Insert as Subnode End of the navigation path. The Valid Node Types screen appears.

  4. If you want to add a new node under an existing node, select the node and choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Insert Node Next navigation step Add to same level End of the navigation path. The Valid Node Types screen appears.

  5. Choose Reference Node and then Continue. The Reference to a Structure dialog box is displayed.

  6. If you want to add a node that exists locally in the system, choose Find Structure. The Find Structure dialog box appears.

  7. Enter the search criteria that you require and choose Execute.

  8. In the hit list, double-click on the structure you want and choose Copy.

  9. If you want to add a node that was created in another system, choose Remote Search for Structure. The Enter Connection dialog box is displayed.

  10. Select a system ID and choose Choose. Log on to the system and proceed as described in steps 6 to 8.
