Defining Character FormatsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

Character formats in forms determine how text is formatted within paragraphs. They are a refined form of text layout.

To call the screen for the standard attributes of character strings, choose Start of the navigation path Goto Next navigation step Character Strings End of the navigation path.

  1. Choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Create Element End of the navigation path, or choose F5.

  2. A dialog box appears. Enter a character tag and description. Confirm your entries by choosing ENTER. The character tag is created.

The system sets all standard attributes to *. You can overwrite this setting.

Choose Start of the navigation path Attributes Next navigation step Font End of the navigation path to define the font attributes for the character format.

  1. Font attributes provide a more detailed definition. Enter values in the input-enabled fields.

  2. The fields Bold, Italics, and Underlined are automatically displayed with *. You can overwrite this with your entry.

Repeat the definition of character tags and their standard and font attributes until all required character formats have been defined. Save the character formats using the F11 function key, or choose Start of the navigation path Form Next navigation step Save End of the navigation path or Start of the navigation path Form Next navigation step Save As End of the navigation path.
