Business Object

Representation of a business object in the real world within the SAP system. Business objects can represent actual or abstract objects, as well as activities or processes. Examples include purchase orders, contracts, customers, risks, and telephone calls.

Business objects are used to model and process objects that exist at your company in the SAP system. A specific set of processing options - such as display, change, and send - is available for each business object.
