To ensure the best possible performance when handling websites, SAP Web Application Server has a cache. This means that static objects such as MIMEs and dynamic pages are retrieved from the ICM Server Cache or the Internet server cache if they are frequently requested by the client. The Internet Communication Manager (ICM) therefore does not have to send the request to the Internet Communication Framework. It can return the page located in the cache instead.
You use profile parameters to configure the ICM Server Cache (these profile parameters start with icm/HTTP/server_cache). These profile parameters are described in Parameterizing the ICM and the ICM Server Cache and in the parameter documentation in Transaction RZ11.
