Setting Device Types

Administrators ensure that the appearance and behavior of the SAP Fiori launchpad on Portal matches the type of device in use.

Prerequisites

You are assigned the Content Admin role.

Context

You can configure the device type in the Portal Catalog at the level of a parent container, instead of individually configuring the child iViews and pages. A container can be a role, role folder, or workset.

Note

Make sure that the child iViews or pages are only one level below their parent container.

If the device type ID of the child iViews and pages is different to that of the parent container, then the device type ID of the child objects overrides the device type ID of the container.

Procedure

In the portal, do one of the following:
- In the role editor of the container for which you want to define device types, choose Properties.
- 1. Navigate to Content Administration Portal Display .
  2. In the Portal Catalog, select the container for which you want to define device types.
  3. Open the object in the Properties editor.
A list of the basic properties appears. To show all of the properties defined for the container, choose All.
From the Show Category dropdown list, select Personalized Launcher and define object IDs for the Object ID of Device Group property.

In the Object ID of Device Group property, enter the object IDs of device groups as they appear in the Device Group Manager. Separate values with semicolons (;).

For example, com.sap.portal.dg.tablet
Set the selected parent container as an entry point.
Save your changes.
