Performing Language TransportsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

The portal export functionality can create transport packages that contain text only without including objects. This enables transport packages for certain languages to be imported into other portal installations. The text of PCD objects (roles, worksets, pages, iViews) are read directly from the database.

Prerequisites

To import a language package into a portal installation, the corresponding content objects must also exist in the PCD of the target system.

Procedure

  1. Open the Translation page of the transport package and select the checkbox Change language settings to 'Text Only' .

  2. From the Available Translations list, select the languages to transport and move them to the Translations in Package list.

    Multiple selections are possible using the Ctrl and Shift keys.

Recommendation

If a package contains text only, consider gving it a name that indicates this.
