Logon Using User ID and Password on the Portal
Use
The portal uses the authentication mechanism of the underlying SAP NetWeaver Application Server (AS) Java. The portal supports Single Sign-On (SSO) to back-end systems using user ID and password with user mapping.
Caution
Since the system sends the user's user ID and password across the network, you should use a secure protocol such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) for sending data.
