Viewing Roles from PackagesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

SAP NetWeaver Portal can integrate content packages from SAP Business Suite. The packages contain roles that define the content and structure the navigation capabilities of the business user in runtime. The system administrator can view SAP Business Suite packages and the roles they contain.

Prerequisites

There are SAP Business Suite packages downloaded to the portal.

Procedure
  1. In the portal, navigate to Start of the navigation path System Administration Next navigation step System Configuration End of the navigation path. The System Landscape Overview appears.

  2. In the link bar, choose Available Role from Packages . An overview appears, showing a list of the downloaded business packages and all the roles they contain. You have the following options:

    • Select a business package to view the roles only of that package

    • Filter the list of roles by entering a string in the Filter field and choosing Go

      Choose Clear to empty the Filter field.

    • Define which roles to view by choosing Show Roles: and selecting one of the following options:

      • All to list all the roles in the selected package

      • Only Connected to list only the roles containing system aliases that connect to a back end.

      • Unconnected to list only the roles that have no content that connects to a back end

    • Check for changes in the list of roles by choosing Refresh

    • Find a the location of a selected role in the portal by choosing Locate in Portal Catalog

    • Check the connection of a role to its back end by choosing Connect to Back End

You can go back to the System Landscape Overview at any time by selecting it in the link bar.
