Transaction WDR_ACF_WLIST: Releasing Client DirectoriesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Caution

Releasing client directories also deactivates an SAP security standard. Setting this switch is therefore at your own risk and assumes that all possible consequences have been considered.

By setting the Allow All Directories on Client switch, all available drives, network drives, and directories are released for writing and reading the files on the client computer. This means that existing client restrictions that were entered in the white list are ignored after release. The white list itself is still used as it can contain further entries (for example, addresses of the content server, starting of applications, and so on).

Activating/Deactivating Standards
  1. Open transaction WDR_ACF_WLIST.
  2. Click the Allow All Directories on Client button.
  3. With this step you open a dialog with which this special SAP security standard can be activated or deactivated for all client computers. In the title of the dialog the current activation level for directory security is displayed:

    Sec_Standard_folder

    Current Activation Level

    Action:

    Activation

    Action:

    Deactivation

    Certificate standard is active:

It is not allowed to read and write files of the client computer.

As the security standard is already active, it is not possible to activate it by clicking on the Activate button.

Clicking the buttonDeactivateterminates the security standard, reading and writing files on the client computer is then possible after closing the dialog.

    Certificate standard is inactive:

It is already allowed to read and write files of the client computer.

Clicking the Activate button restores the security standard for the directory security after closing the dialog.

As the security standard is already inactive, it is not possible to deactivate it by clicking on the Deactivate button.

  4. If you have decided to change the current security standard, another popup appears where you have to confirm your decision again.
Note Specified content servers are not affected by this change.
Reactivating the Security Standard

If you decide to reactivate the security standard, you must first repeat step 1. On the next dialog screen in step 2, select Activate. Releasing the reading and writing function of all directories is then taken back and the security standard is restored.
