Import Queue Web UI - Closing and Opening the Import QueueLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

A system which is being supplied with transports should always remain consistent. For this purpose, you must specify deadlines by which developers must release their transports. You can close the import queue to prevent transports released after the deadline from being imported with the next import of all transports.

Transports which are released after the import queue has been closed are placed in the queue after a so-called stop mark. They will only be marked for import after the next import of all transports has been completed. During the next import of all transports in the queue only the transports before the stop mark are imported. The stop mark will be removed automatically after the import has finished.

Note Make sure that all persons concerned are aware of when you want to close the import queue. This lets your developers decide when to release their work for import into other systems.

Procedure

  1. Start the Import Queue Web UI for the system whose import queue you want to close.
  2. To close the import queue choose Start of the navigation path More Next navigation step Close Queue End of the navigation path.
The stop mark is set at the end of the import queue.
  3. Optional: To move the stop mark to a different position in the import queue, use drag and drop.
In the next import of all transports in the queue, all transports that are in front of the stop mark will be imported. The transports after the stop mark will not be imported in a mass import. However, it is possible to import them individually.
  4. Optional: To re-open a closed import queue, delete the stop mark or choose Start of the navigation path More Next navigation step Open Queue End of the navigation path.
