Assigning Object Lists / Transport Requests / Local Lists for TranslationLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

  • If you want to assign an object list for translation, an object list has been created in transaction LXE_MASTER.

  • If you want to assign a transport request or piece list for translation, a suitable transport request or piece list has been created in transaction SE01.

  • If you want to assign a local list for translation, a local list has been created in transaction LXE_MASTER.

  • You have been defined as a translator for all languages (****) in transaction LXE_MASTER.

  • Your translator profile includes the authorization object PREL with the value 01.

Context

You coordinate translation and need one of the translators that you coordinate to translate a specific set of objects. However, you do not want to set up the translation environment and run an evaluation to put the objects in a standard worklist. You want the translator to access and translate the objects via an on-the-fly worklist instead.

If a translator wants to call up an on-the-fly worklist via

  • An object list, then the translator's profile must include authorization object TRW2.

  • A transport request, then the translator's profile must include authorization object TRW4.

  • A collection, then the translator’s profile must include authorization object TRW5.

  • A local list, then the translator’s profile must include authorization object TRW6.

You can use authorization objects TRW2, TRW4, and TRW6 to allow the translator to create an on-the-fly worklist via
  • Any object list, or transport request, or local list that exists in the system, or
  • An assigned object list, or transport request, or local list only.

If the translator's profile includes authorization object TRW2, TRW4, or TRW6 with the value 03, then the translator can create an on-the-fly worklist via any object list, transport request, or local list that exists in the system. In this case, you do not need to assign an object list, transport request, or local list for translation.

However, if the translator's profile includes authorization object TRW2, TRW4, or TRW6 with the value 01 or 02, then the translator can only create an on-the-fly worklist via an object list, transport request, or local list that you have assigned for translation into the target language.

Procedure

  1. Call transaction LXE_MASTER.
  2. Choose Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step User Settings End of the navigation path (or select the User Settings User Settings icon in the toolbar).

The Default Settings dialog box appears.

  3. On the Lists tab, choose Add Languages Add Languages.

The Language Selection dialog box appears.

  4. Select the target language or languages for which you want to assign an object list, transport request, or local list for translation.
  5. Choose Execute Execute.

The target languages are added to the Language column.

  6. Select the languages for which you want to assign the same object list, transport request, or local list for translation.
  7. To assign an object list, choose Object Lists and select the required object list in the Object List dialog box.

The number of the object list is displayed in the Object List column for the selected target languages.

  8. To assign a transport request, choose Transport Request and use the input help to select the required transport request or piece list.

The name of the transport request is displayed in the Transport Request column for the selected target languages.

  9. To assign a local list, choose Local Lists and select the required local list in the Select Local List dialog box. The name of the local list is displayed in the Local List column for the selected target languages.
  10. Choose Save Save.

Results

The object list, transport request, or local list is assigned for translation into the selected target languages. A translator who is defined for one of the target languages with authorization object TRW2, TRW4, or TRW6 with value 01 or 02 can now create an on-the-fly worklist in transaction SE63 but only by using the assigned object list, transport request, or local list.
