Managing JobsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

  • You have accessed the tool for managing background jobs and selected the Adapter Engine Jobs tab. For more information, see Performing Background Processing .

  • You have selected the job whose details you want to view or modify.

Note that you cannot select more than one job in the Adapter Jobs table.

Context

When you access the Adapter Engine Jobs you can see the background jobs of the Advanced Adapter Engine. The system display information the name and type of each job, the date and time of its last and next scheduled execution, and other details for the execution of a job. A job can have one of the following statuses:

  • Red: job processing contained errors.

  • Yellow: job processing partly successfully.

  • Green: job processing successful.

  • Gray: the job has not run.

Procedure

  • Choose the Modify button to change the job details.

Note that you cannot modify the name and type of a background job. For more information about how to modify the job details, see Scheduling Jobs .

  • To activate or deactivate a job you can use the corresponding buttons above the Adapter Jobs table.

Another way to do this is to select or deselect the Active option when modifying the job details.

  • If you want to execute a job straight away irrespective of its next scheduled execution, choose the Execute Now button.

The system would execute the job as a separate process independently of the job monitor. You can use the Refresh button to see the result of executing the job reflected in the Adapter Jobs table and in the job details displayed below the table.

  • Choose the Delete button if you want to delete the selected job.

The system would request confirmation for deleting the job. Note that you cannot delete the standard jobs for deleting messages; you can only deactivate them.

  • Choose the Status Details tab in the Adapter Job Details screen area to see information about errors that occurred during the last execution of the selected job.

Note that the system displays this tab only when there are errors. You can also see this information by configuring the Adapter Jobs table to display the Status Details column.
