Using a Number Range ObjectLocate this document in the navigation structure

To supply an application with the numbers of a number range object, you have to call the relevant function module in your application program. Which function module of the function group SNR3 you require depends on whether you want to implement an external or an internal number assignment.

Function Group SNR3

The function modules in this group manage the number assignment.

  • NUMBER_CHECK

    You need this function module for external number assignment. It checks whether a number range object number is within a specified number range interval.

  • NUMBER_GET_INFO

    This function module gets information about a number range interval of a number range object.

  • NUMBER_GET_NEXT
    You need this function module for external number assignment. It assigns the next free number(s) in a number range interval, to a number range object. When the last number in the interval has been assigned, number assignment starts again with the first number in the interval.
    Note

    This only applies if the Do Not Roll flag is NOT set. If the Do Not Roll flag is set, the error message No transfer of the interval for object… is issued instead.

    The return code tells you whether the numbers assigned are in the critical range.
