Procedure documentationCreating an RFC destination in the ABAP System

 

To integrate the BW system and BusinessObjects Business Intelligence, you need an RFC destination. This RFC destination allows the BW system and BusinessObjects Business Intelligence to communicate with one another.

Procedure

  1. Call Configuration of RFC Connections (transaction SM59).

  2. Choose Create.

  3. Maintain the RFC destination:

    • Enter a name for the RFC desitination.

    • Select T für TCP/IP-Verbindung as the connection type.

    • Enter a description. You can maintain the description of the RFC destination language dependently.

    • Technical Settings:

      • Select Registered Server Program as the activation type.

      • Enter the program ID. The program ID must be identical to the program ID that you specified when creating the destination for this BW system in the BusinessObjects BI server.

      • Under Gateway Options, enter the gateway host and the gateway service that the BusinessObjects BI server uses to communicate with the BW system.

    • On the Logon & Security tab page, activate the Send SAP Logon Ticket option.

  4. Save your entries.
