SM04 in Detail: Most Important IconsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

In transaction SM04 there are different screen interfaces depending on the actions performed (e.g. logon list of an instance / system-wide logon list). The most important icons and their functions are described below for reference purposes:

Refresh

In SM04 a snapshot is displayed. For an up-to-date view of the logons, you have to refresh the display. If you want to look at a specific snapshot in more detail, you have to save it first [e.g. Send, Local File, Text Processing, Table Calculation].

System-Wide List

When you call transaction SM04, the current logon list of your instance is displayed first. The System-Wide List displays all work processes in the SAP system, not just the processes belonging to a specific instance.

Session

The number of sessions opened by a user you select is displayed here.

User InfoUser Info

Here you can display information about a user, for instance, first and last name.

Choose Detail

Here you can display detailed information about a user. This function is required for support purposes.

Changing Layout

Here you can adjust the column layout to suit your needs.

Switch to Server

From the System-Wide List you can go back to the instance-specific logon list.

This icon is displayed only in the System-Wide List.
