Enabling Home Page SynchronizationLocate this document in the navigation structure

Administrators configure the ability of end users to synchronize the SAP Fiori launchpad home page.

Prerequisites

You are assigned the Content Admin role.

Context

If you enable synchronization, a Sync Home Page option is displayed in the Options menu in the home page header bar, allowing end users to do the following:

Description

Add new content

Updates the home page with any new tiles or groups added by the administrator.

This action does not affect home page personalization set by the end user.

Run cleanup

  • Updates the home page with changes to tiles or groups made by the administrator. This action synchronizes tile properties such as tile Title, Subtitle, Information, and so on.

  • Removes content to which the end user is no longer assigned.

This action does not affect home page personalization set by the end user. For example, any changes to tile properties or group titles made by the end user are persisted.

Preview items that will change

Shows which items will be affected by the selected synchronization actions.

Reset the home page

Restores the home page to the default configuration of tiles and groups set up by the administrator.
Note

When an end user logs on to the SAP Fiori launchpad for the first time, the home page state is saved. Changes that end users make to the home page are saved per device group. This enables end users to personalize their home page in one way for mobile devices and in another way for desktops, according to the device groups you have configured.

The Add new content and Run cleanup actions apply to all user devices in the device group, including the current device in use.

The Reset the home page action deletes any home page personalization for the device group in use. Any application personalization is deleted across all device groups.

Procedure

  1. In the portal, go to Start of the navigation path Content Administration Next navigation step Portal Display Next navigation step Framework Page Configuration End of the navigation path, and choose Fiori Framework Page.
  2. Select the Enable ‘Sync Home Page’ in ‘Options’ Menu checkbox and save.

    The Fiori Framework Page is now configured to enable end user synchronization of the home page.
