Use

Use the procedures below to create, edit, or delete a report. When you create a report, you group together various monitors.

Note

You cannot delete a predefined report, or edit a predefined report and save it under its original name. To create a report based on a predefined one, you have to edit and save the modified preset report under a new name.

When you create, edit, or delete a report, the changes you make become available:

  • For the currently selected system only

  • For all users who work with History Reports

Prerequisites

You have started the History Reports tool.

Procedure

Creating a Report

  1. Choose the Configure tab.

  2. Choose New Report . A dialog box appears.

  3. Enter a name (label) for your report.

  4. Choose a default time unit to measure the report.

  5. Choose the way your report should be displayed:

    • Single Chart - all monitors are visualized in one and the same chart

    • Chart per Monitor - each monitor is displayed in a separate chart

    • Chart per Instance - there are as many charts as there are available instances. Each chart displays a group of all monitors.

  6. From the Monitors table, select the ones you need for your report. Multiple selection is available.

  7. Choose Add to Report .

    The selected monitors are displayed in the Report Monitors table.

  8. Choose Save Report .

  9. To see the report visualization, choose the Display tab.

    Note

    You can change the report's visualization using the Report Type and Time Units dropdown boxes.

Editing a Report

  1. Choose the Configure tab.

  2. From the dropdown box, select the report you want to edit.

  3. To change the monitors participating in the report, use the Add to Report and Remove from Report buttons.

  4. To change the visualization type, use the Default Report Type dropdown box.

  5. To change the time units, use the Default Report Time Units dropdown box.

  6. Choose Save Report .

  7. To see the updated report, choose the Display tab.

Displaying a Report

  1. You have created a report.

  2. Choose the Display tab to see the chart.

  3. In this tab page, you can still modify the report type and the time units.

    Note

    If the system you monitor has more than one Java instance, there will be a different chart for each of them. To view all these charts, choose Chart per instance .

Deleting a Report

  1. Choose the Configure tab.

  2. From the dropdown box, select the report you want to delete.

  3. Choose Delete Report .

Exporting Monitor Data

  • To export detailed information about all monitors, go to the Configure area and then choose the Export All button. Save the data as a spreadsheet file.

  • To export only the report you need, go to the Display area, select the relevant report from the list, and then choose Export to Spreadsheet .
