Prerequisites

You have opened the Monitor Browser .

Context

Use this procedure to change a monitor's description and configure monitor properties.

Procedure


  1. Select a monitor from the Monitoring List .

  2. Go to Monitor Configuration screen area.

  3. To add/edit the monitor description, use the Description input field.

  4. For monitor configuration, you have the following options:

    Modify the color thresholds

    Enter threshold numbers to set conditions for the monitor alert colors.

    Note

    The Green to Yellow number must be equal or greater than the Yellow to Green one.

    Also, Yellow to Red number must be equal or greater than the Red to Yellow .

    Set monitor data reaction on failure

    In case of resource failure, you can configure the monitor to react in the following ways:

    • Unregister monitor - the monitor is not visible in the monitoring list.

    • Ignore - the monitor and the error details are visible in the list. Monitor is not working.

    Data Collection Method provides additional information. This filed is not editable.

    Set the data record period

    The time period for which a configuration change is recorded to the DB.

    1. Go to the Period area and enter the time (an integer number).

    2. Then, set the time unit.

    3. When you choose Refresh considering the period set, the change takes effect.

  5. Choose Save .

  6. To quickly apply the last change saved, choose Retrieve Monitor Value .

  7. To restore the monitor's settings to default, choose Restore to Default .
