Releasing SCA Files for Transport

Prerequisites

You have configured the connectivity to the ABAP back-end system.

To do that from the menu path choose Windows Preferences Destination Configurations R/3 Configuration .
You have exported the SCA file to your local file system.

You work in the Development Infrastructure perspective of the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.

You can directly trigger release of your software component archive (SCA) files to an ABAP back-end system.

Navigate to the software component (SC) that you want to release for transport in Component Browser view.

Note that you can select several SCs that you want to release in a single transport request. Select the SCs in the Component Browser view, then continue with this procedure.
Open the context menu, and choose Release .
In the dialog that appears, browse to the location of the already exported SCA file. Choose Next . Repeat this step for each selected SC and their corresponding exported SCA files.
Choose the ABAP communication system that you want to use for the release of the SCA file(s) from the dropdown list.
Specify the name of the Non-ABAP system on the previously selected communication system where you want your SCA file(s) to be released. Choose Next .

Connection to the back-end system is established and the filled in data is checked. A CTS transport request is obtained.
( Optional ) To change or view the transport request, choose Create/Select pushbutton.

The Transport Organizer is opened in your browser.
( Optional ) To directly open the Transport Organizer after attaching the SCA to the transport request to release the SCA file, mark the Monitor Request checkbox.
Choose Finish .

The SCA file(s) are attached to the transport request and thus released to the CTS in the ABAP back-end system.
