This function provides you with an overview of the update requests and a tool to investigate any problems that may have occurred. This function does not display requests that have been updated successfully.

Note Note

You can also see the same display if you choose Administration of Update System (Administration of Update System), and select all update requests or canceled update requests. However, this function does not allow you to define detailed selection criteria.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. Define the selection criteria. You can select update requests by the following properties.

    Selection Criterion

    Client

    Client in which an update was created

    User

    User who created the update request

    Type of update request

    The options for selecting the status are:

    • Canceled: Display canceled updates only

    • To be updated: Display updates that have not yet been processed (the reasons why are also displayed)

    • V1 executed: Display executed V1 updates

    • V2 executed: Display executed V2 updates

    • All: Display all update requests

    Date and time

    Interval (date and time) for which the updates are to be displayed

    Max. no. of records

    Maximum number of update records to be displayed

    Update server

    Update server on which an update was executed

    Note Note

    No input or * will display all possible update requests.

  2. Choose Execute (F8) (Execute (F8)).

    A list of update requests will be displayed.

  3. Analyze the result.

    • Green color in the Status field means that the update is currently running or has not yet started. You are not required to do anything provided that the list is not too long and the updates are not being processed.

    • Red color in the Status field means that an error occurred and the update request could not be processed.

      In many cases, information relating to the cause of the error is given in parentheses.

    • The Info column provides the following information.

      SAP locks activated for this update request

      The locks for this update request are released (possible causes: manual deletion, update canceled due to errors)

      External commit (External commit)

      Update request was initiated by an external system

      Generated by batch input (Generated by batch input )

      This update request was generated by processing a batch input session. It cannot be updated again.

  4. Examine the updates in more detail, or make changes to them.
