Data Acquisition 

Purpose

The Data Acquisition IT process allows you to connect heterogeneous sources to BI. You can transfer data straight into BI from the source or use SAP NetWeaver XI to transfer data. Furthermore, the process supports direct access to source data (the data does not have to be loaded into BI).

Prerequisites

You have performed the required configuration steps in the source and in BI.

Process Flow

This IT process runs in the usage types BI and PI:

       1.      You connect SAP source systems to BI.

       2.      You connect non-SAP source systems to BI.

Result

You have connected the sources of the data transfer or data access to BI. The sources are now available in BI for direct access or definition in the load process.
