Function documentation RNIF Adapter Configuration  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You configure the RNIF adapter to send and receive data between the Integration Server and a RosettaNet-compliant system.

The RNIF adapter can be configured for the following scenarios:

     Single-Action Initiator

     Single-Action Responder

     Two-Action Initiator

     Two-Action Responder

In each of these scenarios, you configure the adapter with respect to the partner. So, if you use the scenario, single-action initiator, it means that the partner is starting a message exchange with XI.

Depending on the process types and the actual roles of partners in a PIP, a different channel configuration is needed.

Note

The RosettaNet-compliant system of the partner must be configured to send messages to the RNIF Adapter. To do so, specify the outbound URL on the partner system as follows:

http://<host>:<port>/MessagingSystem/receive/RNIF11Adapter/RNIF11

Integration

You configure the adapter when you define a communication channel on the Parameters tab. In addition to the adapter configuration, on the Module tab in the module processor, you can specify generic modules, which give the adapter additional functions.

For the RNIF adapter, you must specify the protocol as RNIF 1.1. To specify the protocol type, select RNIF 1.1 as the Message Protocol on the Adapter tab. You must also specify the module name RNIF11ModuleListener in the Module tab.

The modules configured in the Module tab are only used to configure the integration of the RNIF Adapter with the Adapter Engine. They do not provide any other additional functions.
