Function documentationSettings for the Object Navigator

In the Navigator Settings window, you can enter values for particular attributes (such as validity date) of a central object for each view and object type.

The system offers parameters for the central object type, the associated relations, and the child object types. The parameters are grouped according to their validity for individual views.

Note Note

You can personalize the navigator settings, as follows:

  • In Customizing for the object navigator, you can make settings to personalize the navigator settings. You can specify which parameters are to be ignored in the navigator settings. The system does not offer these parameters for personalization in the navigator settings.

For more information, see Customizing for Start of the navigation path Cross-Application Components Next navigation step Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications Next navigation step Settings for Object Navigator Next navigation step Make Settings for Object Navigator End of the navigation path.

  • Views that you have personalized in the object navigator have an effect on the possible navigator settings. You can only personalize the non-hidden views there (see Functions of the Object Navigator on the Web User Interface).

End of the note.

Features

You can make settings with parameters as follows:

  • The All Views option lists the complete set of parameters available for all the views.

  • Individually per View

You obtain the parameters for the selected view.

You can save the parameterization so that it is also valid for all further object navigator sessions.

Note Note

This parameterization of individual views always has a global effect. This means it has an effect on all objects of this object type that were processed in the current object navigator session. Changing the parameters can therefore cause elements in the breadcrumb trail to become invalid.

End of the note.

Example Example

If you change the validity date in a view and subsequently the central object becomes invalid, the system cannot determine further objects that are related to the central object. The system issues a corresponding message.

End of the example.
