Use

The role SAP_BC_DB_ADMIN_SDB has been provided for database administration (prerequisites), which contains in its user menu the most important DBA functions that are to be used regularly by a database administrator for his or her DBA actions.

Database: Operation
DBA Planning Calendar	You can use the DBA Planning Calendar to schedule and start data backups, log backups, and monitoring and analysis tasks.
DBA Action Logs	In the DBA Action Logs display you can check the status of your data backups, log backups, and other DBA actions, and display the logs of these actions.
Database: Monitoring and Configuration
MaxDB/liveCache system overview	In complex system landscapes, access database administration functions using the MaxDB/liveCache System Overview transaction.
Database Assistant	You can use the Database Assistant to monitor your database system.
CCMS monitoring	Among many other displays, the CCMS monitoring also includes the database alert monitor, which displays critical information memory, security, and performance as alerts.
Database performance: tables and indexes	In the DB Filling/Tables and Indexes display, you can see information on the database fill level and the tables and indexes in the database. You can determine which indexes are missing, and check the consistency between database objects and ABAP Dictionary objects.
Database: Archiving
Data archiving: DB tables	You can display relationships between tables and archiving objects and display statistical information for each table.

You can use Role Maintenance (transaction PFCG) to display the SAP_BC_DB_ADMIN_SDB role.
