Chem eStandards Message Types
Chem eStandards messages are exchanged between business partners involved in Chem eStandards based data interchange. This standard is based on the RNIF 1.1 specification. Thus, the messages themselves are enveloped as RNIF Action and Signal messages as specified in the RNIF 1.1 specification. Chem eStandards messages can be categorized as follows:
· Chem eStandards Action Message
· Chem eStandards Signal Message
The content of the message is specified and is a part of Chem eStandards Message Documentation. It contains business content such as Order Create.
These messages are acknowledgements that are sent in response to Chem eStandards Actions. Signals are typically exchanged asynchronously. They are either positive or negative in nature.
· Receipt Acknowledgement is a positive Chem eStandards Signal message that is sent when a message is received by a partner and is found to be a valid Chem eStandards Action message, both in content and syntactically. This is also used to track the reliability of the delivery as well as for non-repudiation purposes.
· There are two types of negative signal messages:
¡ Receipt Acknowledgement Exception: This is a Chem eStandards signal message that is sent when a message is received by a partner and is found to be invalid in terms of schema validation against the corresponding DTD.
¡ General exception: This is a negative acknowledgment message sent to indicate an error in processing of the Action Message against the business rules or other errors involved during processing.
