SAP Logon/Assertion Ticket

If you are using the SAP Logon/Assertion Ticket logon procedure, a logon ticket is produced after logging on to the service (username and password).

This logon ticket is then, if required, sent to other system components, for example, if the service accesses system services that are not located in the component where the initial logon took place.

Instead of asking for the username and password, the systems check the validity of the logon ticket to allow the user access to system services.

Note

When using this logon procedure, the more restricted SAP Assertion Ticket is also accepted for logging on to other system components.

SAP Assertion Ticket

The SAP Assertion Ticket logon procedure is a special version of the logon ticket (SAP Logon Ticket).

In contrast to the Logon Ticket, the SAP Assertion Ticket is only valid for a limited period of time. Also, a system and client identifier of the target system must be specified explicitly for the SAP Assertion Ticket.
