The enqueue replication server is normally monitored by an extra software program. This may be the SAP start service, which starts the replication instance, or it may be HA software, which monitors the enqueue and replication servers in the cluster.

Several return codes are implemented to provide monitoring software with information about the cause of any replication server shutdowns.

Procedure

You should configure the monitoring software of the replication server so that it can respond to the different return codes if the server does shut down.

Meaning

0

Normal shutdown (triggered by an external signal)

1

Dump (termination with certain cause; you can find details in developer traces dev_enrep*)

2

Error in startup phase (details in developer traces)

3

Internal error (details in developer traces)

4

The replica of the lock table is read from the enqueue server and a new lock table created from this.
