If the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection to the LDAP directory does not work, try the following:

      Check that you imported the root certificate of the LDAP directory. See Importing the Root Certificate of the LDAP Directory.

      Check the log files for more information. You can find the trace files in the Log Viewer of the Visual Administrator at Cluster Server .\log defaultTrace.trc or in the file system at  <ASJava_installation>j2ee\cluster\serverx\log\defaultTrace.trc.X.

      Edit the configuration of the User Management Engine (UME) connection to the LDAP server and enter the IP address of the LDAP server in the Server Name field. For more information about how to change the configuration, see Changing the UME LDAP Configuration.

      Make sure that the server name in the subject part of the server certificate matches the LDAP server name in the UME configuration. For more information, see SAP Note 736464.
