Use

In the planning layout advanced settings, you can define the sequence of characteristics in the header area and configure the lead and data columns. You can also select the display tool for previewing the planning layout in the next processing step.

Prerequisites

You have made the basic settings for the planning layout (see Making Basic Settings).

Procedure

The system dynamically offers you the tab pages on which you probably want to make changes. Depending on the layout type that you have chosen, enter the key figures that you display in the planning layout and that you want to enter plan data for on either the Data Columns or Lead Columnstab page. You have the following options:

Tab page Header Area

Here you can change system default for how characteristics are displayed in the header area. You can decide whether characteristics in the header area should be hidden or displayed in the front end. In this way you can increase the visible area for data entry if the layout has a large number of header characteristics.

Tab page Data Columns

The structure of this table depends on the layout variants and the key figures and characteristics that you have chosen in the previous step, when editing the planning layout:

For the layout variants key figures in data column and key figures in data column, rows defined individually you get one column for selecting the key figures.

If characteristics have also been selected for the data columns, an extra column appears for each characteristic. This has the name of the relevant characteristic as the title of the column.

For the layout variant key figures in lead column you see get a column for each characteristic. This column has the name of the characteristic as its header.

In the fields for key figures, select the required key figures from those key figures that were included in the planning level. In the fields for characteristic values, determine these values either with fixed values or by variable replacement.

In the Heading column you are able to edit the heading of the data column. If no text has been set for a column heading yet, the system uses the name of the key figure or characteristic that you select.

If some of the characteristics selected for the data columns have had a sign conversion attribute set for them, a sign attribute column is displayed (see Automatic Sign Assignment).

Note

More information: Configuring Data Columns.

You can choose whether the layout should be displayed with the SAP List Viewer (ALV) or with Microsoft Excel using the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Display Tool function. In the third processing step, the formatting options that you have depend on the display tool you are using (see Formatting the Generated Layout in the Preview).

Tab page Lead Columns

The structure of this table depends on the layout variants that you have chosen in the previous step when editing the planning layout: You have to distinguish between the following cases (for the arrangement, see Planning Layout):

Simple lead columns(s): Here you define the sequence of characteristics in the lead columns for the key figures in lead column layout variant. You also set whether to display the characteristics with their technical name (key), their description, or a combination of both.

If attributes are defined on a characteristic, you can make a setting in the Attr. column defining whether and for which attribute of the characteristic additional columns to generate in the lead columns area where the system displays the corresponding attribute values.

Complex lead columns: The structure of this table depends on the layout variants and the key figures and characteristics that you have chosen in the previous step when editing the planning layout: Set the characteristic values and key figures. This process is described in the section on the Data Columns tab page.

Result
