Track Templates
A track template determines the internal architecture of a track. The following track templates exist in this version of Change Management Service (CMS):
Development tracks are used for the development of software in the SAP NetWeaver Java Development Infrastructure.
Design time systems:
○ Development
○ Consolidation
○ Test
○ Production
You can choose to allocate runtime systems to these four system roles. When you import software, a deployment is then performed automatically to these runtime systems, which allows you to test imported software component versions under runtime conditions.
XI tracks are used for the development of Exchange Infrastructure (XI) objects. XI objects are developed outside the SAP NetWeaver Java Development Infrastructure. This is why an XI track has a different internal structure from a development track.
An XI track contains the following repositories:
○ Development
○ Consolidation
○ Production
These repositories are not assigned to any runtime systems.
