Mime Handler Service
Use
This service is used to determine the MIME type of documents and to associate different document icons with different types of documents.
It assigns the correct symbols to files of various MIME types, and informs applications about the MIME types of files.

Map extensions (case-insensitive) |
If this parameter is active, you can use uppercase and lowercase letters in file extensions in CM repositories. The allocation of document icons to document types whose extensions are specified in uppercase letters then also functions with the MIME types that are configured in lowercase letters by default. |
Activities
In the KM standard delivery, the MIME handler service is activated.
You can find this service in the portal at System Administration→ System Configuration → Knowledge Management → Content Management → Global Services → Show Advanced Options → MIME Handler Service.
