This section lists and shortly describes the tools available for monitoring SAP NetWeaver usage type PI.

The monitoring frequency depends on the volume of messages processed. You should check the various monitors at least once a day. It is also very important that you frequently check the message queues to make sure that the overall message flow is working. If there are problems in a specific queue, no messages in this queue will be processed.

Monitoring Tools:

Tool

Description

Runtime Workbench (RWB)

Central entry point for monitoring purposes to be accessed from your SAP Easy Access menu under Exchange Infrastructure Start Integration Builder or at http://<host>:<port>/rwb.

Computing Center Management System (CCMS)

Used to monitor the different components (Java and ABAP parts) of usage type PI.

Can be accessed from within the RWB component monitoring.

Communication Channel Monitor

Used to monitor and administer the communication channels defined for a given Adapter Engine.

It also provides runtime information about the communication channels of individual adapters, provided that these adapters are registered for this kind of monitoring.

Can be accessed from within the RWB component monitoring.

Adapter Monitor

Used to monitor the status of the adapters provided by the Adapter Engine, including the Java proxy runtime.

Can be accessed from within the RWB component monitoring.

Transaction SXMB_MONI

Additional monitoring functions for the Integration Engine to be accessed from your SAP Easy Access menu under Exchange Infrastructure Monitoring Integration Engine − Monitoring.
