Use in Order Fulfillment In order fulfillment, the supply chain event management-relevant process begins with the creation of the sales order. After the sales order has been created, you can send an event message to the customer (for example, by e-mail) containing information about how to monitor the status of the process in the Internet. The outbound delivery commences after picking, packing, and loading. All the partners involved, including logistics providers and forwarding agents, ensure the information flow to SAP Event Management reporting by sending event messages both for deliveries that arrive on time and for unexpected events.
The availability of tools for monitoring and visibility purposes provides transparency for both the customer and for partners at each stage of order fulfillment. Both parties can monitor planned events and their actual occurrence.
