 Finding a Class via Characteristics

Procedure

To find the class you require on the basis of one or more of its characteristics, proceed as follows:

  1. Enter '*' in the Class field.

  2. Choose the function Start of the navigation path Goto Next navigation step Find in start class by characteristics Next navigation step . End of the navigation path

  3. You see a screen on which you can enter the characteristics you want to use in your search.

  4. You can display the characteristic by choosing Start of the navigation path Environment Next navigation step Display char End of the navigation path .

  5. You can choose between the following search strategies by choosing Chge srch criteria .

  6. A Class contains all given characteristics

    B Class contains one of the given characteristics

    C Class does not contain all given characteristics

    D Class contains none of the given characteristics

  7. To see a list of all the classes that fulfill your search criteria, choose Proceed.

The characteristics must have been entered in the class directly, in a class maintenance function. Inherited characteristics are ignored in the search.

This example illustrates the differences between the different search strategies.

If you enter characteristics C1 and C2 as search criteria, the results of the search are as follows:

You only search in one class type. You can change the class type by choosing Start of the navigation path Extras Next navigation step Change class type Next navigation step . If you want use a class type to find a class use Next navigation step Extras Next navigation step All class types. Next navigation step The search then covers all available class types.
