The procedure type determines how a procedure is valuated, that is, how location determination or product substitution is to take place.
The procedure type supersession chain defines serial location determination (location 1 is substituted by location 2, location 2 by location 3) or product substitution (product 1 is substituted by product 2 and product 2 by product 3).
