Assign Values in MatrixYou can use this function to assign new values to several objects in a table.
All characteristics and objects are assigned to the same class, which you specify at the top. Characteristics can be inherited.
Enter the class type and a class. If the class type is for multiple object types, you see a list of the object types that you can select. Select an object type.
Specify the characteristics to which you want to assign values. To find characteristics, display the possible entries. If you want to use all characteristics of the class you specified or another class, choose
Chars of class.
On the
Target objs
tab, enter the objects to which you want to assign values.
For more details on this procedure, a description of further functions, and information on the log, see the third and fourth steps in Copy Values Assigned to Object .
To assign values to the target objects in the matrix, choose
Carry out a mass change.
Multiple values are displayed in a different color in the matrix, but you can only see one value. Use the possible entries to display further values.
Restrictions
The following functions are not supported:
Expanding values on the user interface.
Query for required characteristics. If you use required characteristics, the status is automatically set to
Incomplete.
To release assigned values that are complete, you can define automatic release in Customizing for the
Classification System
by choosing
Maintain Object Types and Class Types.
For classification status 5, set the
Incomplete manual
indicator and
Auto. release.
Displaying and maintaining the classification status.
Display of inconsistencies.
If inconsistencies occur during matrix processing, the status is automatically set to
Incomplete.
You can display the errors in the classification transactions CL20N and CL24N, by choosing
Inconsistencies.
In CL24N, you can also start a collective release.
