Prerequisites

  1. You have created a master forecast profile.
  2. You have created one or more univariate and/or MLR profiles.

Procedure

  1. In the master forecast profile screen, select the Display/change pushbutton in the Model selection box next to Composite forecast.

    2. The composite forecast profile dialog box appears.

  2. Specify which profiles you want to be included in composite forecasting. You can include as many univariate profiles and/or MLR profiles as you wish.

    Profile

    A name for the composite forecast profile. Note that the system differentiates between upper case and lower case. For example, you might have two profiles with the names "COLLEEN" and "colleen".

    Short name

    A brief description of the composite forecast profile.

    Stat.profile

    The name of a univariate profile that you want to include in the composite forecast. To choose one, use the TimeSerPrfls pushutton at the bottom of the dialog box.

    MLR prfl.

    The name of an MLR profile that you want to include in the composite forecast. To choose one, use the MLR prfls pushbutton at the bottom of the dialog box.

    Weighting

    A percentage to designate the weighting of this profile in the composite forecast. For example, if you have three profiles, you might enter 30, 30 and 40 in this column. This weighting is not time-dependent.

    Weighting profile

    The name of a weighting profile. A weighting profile allows you to assign different weightings to different periods. To choose or create a weighting profile, use the Weighting profile pushbutton at the bottom of the dialog box.

     

  3. To modify any of the chosen profiles, use the Forecast prfl. pushbutton at the bottom of the dialog box.
  4. When you have finished defining your composite forecast profile, choose F8.

Result

The composite forecast profile now appears in the master forecast profile.
