SAP Licensing Procedure
To use your SAP software legally and in accordance with the contractual stipulations, SAP Systems can only be operated with a license key granted by SAP.

If you have installed the SAP Web Application Server in the J2EE-only variant, you can find the relevant license details in Licensing the SAP J2EE Engine.
When you install your SAP System a temporary license is automatically installed that allows you to operate the system for four weeks (as of the date of installation). Before the temporary license expires, you must apply for a permanent license key from SAP. We recommend that you do so as soon as possible after you install your system (or transfer the message server to a different host). See Applying for an SAP License.
When you receive the license key from SAP, you can install and manage the license using transaction SLICENSE (see License Administration with Transaction SLICENSE).
