Start Profiling 

Procedure

       1.      Start the SAP NetWeaver Administrator.

       2.      Choose Analysis → Performance → Application Profiler.

       3.      Search for an application.

Two options are available:

                            a.      From the Show dropdown menu, choose between one of the available predefined views.

                            b.      Search applications by application name – enter an application name pattern in the field next to the Get dropdown menu and choose Go. The applications whose name contains the pattern are displayed.

When the applications are listed in the table view, you can sort them by: Status, Application Name, or Type.

       4.      Select the application you want to start profiling and choose the Start Profiling option.

Only the profiled application remains in the table with applications and several new panes open below it.

       5.      Choose Request Application to start the application that has already been modified. When the application is started you can perform several invocations or reproduce a whole scenario to monitor the data that has already bee profiled and to see where the application appears to have slow performance.

The selected application is run on a server node where the profiling is running. If the application has more than one module, a popup window is opened where the user can select a module.
