On this tab, you configure alerts.

Prerequisites

You have opened the tab in change mode.

Procedure

To edit the tab, you proceed as follows:

  1. Depending on the starting procedure specified on the Data Collection tab, only certain alerts are available to you. The following matrix shows the selection possibilities:

  2. Cancel Job: Specify whether a job cancellation should produce a yellow or a red alert.

  3. Job Activity: Specify whether phases of activity should produce a yellow or a red alert after a specific duration.

    Note Note

    If you are using the Job Activity alert type, you may not use the Job Not Started On Time alert type (see step 8).

  4. Delayed Start

    1. Scheduled Start Time: The system takes over the start time scheduled for the monitoring from the documented scheduling. The start time is entered as hh:mm:ss.

      If the system does not specify the start time, you enter the scheduled start time in this field.

    2. Maximum Delay for Yellow Alert: Specify the maximum start delay after which you want to receive a yellow alert. The entry is in minutes.

    3. Maximum Delay for Red Alert: Specify the maximum start delay after which you want to receive a red alert. The entry is in minutes.

  5. Delayed End

    1. Planned End of Job: Specify until when the job must run. The format is hh:mm:ss.

    2. Maximum Delay for Yellow Alert: Specify the maximum delay after which you want to receive a yellow alert. The entry is in minutes.

    3. Maximum Delay for Red Alert: Specify the maximum delay after which you want to receive a red alert. The entry is in minutes.

  6. Outside Time Window

    1. Start of Time Window: Enter the time at which the time window should start. The format is hh:mm:ss.

    2. End of Time Window: Enter the time at which the time window should end. The format is hh:mm:ss.

    3. Time Window for Yellow Warning Alert: Specify the delay after which you want to receive a yellow alert. The entry is in minutes.

    4. Time Window for Red Alert Exceeded: Specify the delay after which you want to receive a red alert. The entry is in minutes.

  7. Maximum Runtime

    1. Maximum Runtime for Yellow Alert: Specify the maximum runtime of a background job after which you want to receive a yellow alert. The value is in minutes.

    2. Maximum Runtime for Red Alert: Specify the maximum runtime of a background job after which you want to receive a red alert. The value is in minutes.

  8. Job not started on time: Specify whether a delayed start should produce a yellow or a red alert.

    You can specify multiple control times with their evaluations (yellow or red alert).

    Note Note

    If you are using the Job not started on time alert type, you may not use the Job Activity alert type (see step 3).

  9. Job Log Messages: Specify the message class(es) , message number(s), and message type(s) that the system is to monitor in the job log. You define the thresholds for the number of entries that produce yellow or red alerts.

    • To add a job log message, you proceed as follows:

      1. Choose Add.

        A dialog box appears.

      2. Message Class: Enter the message class ID.

      3. Message Number: Enter the message number.

      4. Message Type: Enter the message type. The message type classifies messages into error, information, and warning.

      5. Yellow Alert Upper Limit: Specify the number of unexpected messages to trigger a yellow alert.

      6. Red Alert Upper Limit: Specify the number of unexpected messages to trigger a red alert.

      7. Lower Limit for Yellow Alert: Specify the number of expected messages to trigger a yellow alert.

      8. Lower Limit for Red Alert: Specify the number of expected messages to trigger a red alert.

      9. Copy your entries.

      10. Save your entries.

    • To change a job log message, you proceed as follows:

      1. Select the job log message that you want to change.

      2. Choose Change.

        You go to a dialog box in which you can make your changes.

      3. Copy your entries.

      4. Save your entries.

    • To remove a job log message, you proceed as follows:

      1. Select the job log message that you want to remove.

      2. Choose Remove.

      3. Confirm with Remove.

      4. Save your entries.
