Administrative Tools
This function provides you with a central access point to all relevant administration and configuration tools needed in Composite Application Framework Core (CAF Core). You use the administrative tool section of the CAF Runtime Configurator to manage and administer all CAF-based applications.

Go to http://<host>:<port>/caf → Administrative tools. Remember to replace <host> and <port> with the appropriate machine name.
Administrative Tools leads CAF Core administrators and developers to several links that provide a set of applications needed to manage authorizations, administer the CAF Core and KM integration, and other CAF Core runtime configurations. The following table gives you an overview of the administrative tools you can use.
Tool Name |
Description |
You can assign access rights and rules (permission handling) for business entities in the design time. You can also create, import, or export new rules and assign them accordingly, as well as define parameters and attributes of business objects used in creating authorization reports. |
|
KM Index Administration |
You can set whether or not an entity service can be queried in the Knowledge Management index. |
KM Clean Job Administration |
You can set periodical task reminders to clean up documents or discussion rooms. You can define run date and time. |
Classifications Administration |
You use this in the administration of hierarchical classification in CAF Core, which includes hierarchy maintenance and assignment, language maintenance, and the import or export of classifications to SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW). |
Custom Enumeration Type Editor |
You can create and maintain custom enumerations with the Custom Type Editor.
You indicate in the dictionary model of SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (with package name customtypes) that the runtime definitions of enumerations have precedence over the dictionary model. See Creating Custom Enumerations for more information. |
Custom Enumeration Type Backup |
You can backup custom enumeration registered types or languages. |
Custom Enumeration Type Restore |
You can restore custom enumeration type according to deployed component and file name. |
Service Customization |
You can configure or customize the Enterprise Service Framework (ESF) service modules. |
You can edit and configure parameters for external service access. |
|
You can view and edit information about subscribers, who want to be notified when an action on a business entity has been triggered. See the chapter on Service Eventing and Notifications for more information on eventing and notification in CAF. |
|
You can transport instances of locally persisted business entity services. |
|
You can transport special content of business entity services. These are authorizations, custom enumeration types, object mappings and hierarchical classifications. |
|
You can manage dynamic attribute and simple type descriptions or define dynamic and static attributes of select business entities. |
